- For “Fake.Fake.Fake.,” I wrote the lyrics around the theme of “conflict,” specifically, how to navigate a world where it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s a lie.
- While making the most of AZKi’s signature clear and beautiful voice, I also had her lean into a fierce, powerful attack reminiscent of Western punk bands. We even paid close attention to the breathing, and I think the final result turned out incredibly cool. Even when I made ridiculous requests like, “Sing it like you’ve suddenly become a buff foreigner,” she pulled it off. She’s truly amazing. (laughs)

- With themes of lies, fakes, and pretending to be someone else, I thought the subject matter was really interesting.
- On top of that, the jacket art and music video for this release are a total departure from before—AZKi doesn’t appear in them; instead, we had Minato Aqua-chan star in them. When I first heard this concept, I thought it was incredibly fresh, and I think everyone will be able to enjoy the song in a different way than usual.
- On the day of the recording, Tanaka-sensei directed me personally. When I first received the song, it was in a different key, so while I was doing the test vocals, he changed the key on the spot to match my voice. Just changing the key made a huge impression and felt very fresh while singing. The rhythm was fast and it was a difficult song to sing, but I got all sorts of direction like “Try singing it fun!”, “Try singing it energetically!”, “Sing it in the coolest way you can imagine!”, and “Sing it like Linkin Park!” In the end, I feel like the “Sing it like Linkin Park!” take was the one that got used (lol).

- The idea to have someone other than AZKi appear in the MV started from a total whim—or rather, an idea that the journalist Moriyama Doro brought up during a meeting. From there, considering elements like the song’s image, the world-building, and the element of surprise, I came to the conclusion that it had to be Minato Aqua. There was no one else.
